Cookie policy
This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies Window Quote Compare uses on this website, what they do, and how long they last. Cookies are small text files stored on your device; we use them mainly to understand how visitors reach us so we can measure and improve our advertising.
First-party marketing attribution cookies
When you land on the site we set our own first-party wml_* cookies to remember how you arrived. These store marketing attribution values — UTM campaign values (source, medium, campaign, term and content), the page you first landed on, and advertising click identifiers (for example a Google gclid or a Meta click id). This lets us correctly attribute an enquiry to the campaign that brought you here, and helps prevent duplicate submissions. These cookies last for 90 days. The same values may also be stored in your browser’s local storage as a fallback.
| Cookie | Purpose | Expiry |
|---|---|---|
wml_utm_source, wml_utm_medium, wml_utm_campaign, wml_utm_term, wml_utm_content | Remember the campaign that referred you, for attribution | 90 days |
wml_gclid, wml_fbc, wml_fbp and other click ids | Attribute your enquiry to the ad you clicked | 90 days |
wml_landing_url | Record the first page you landed on | 90 days |
Tag manager and analytics cookies
We may enable Google Tag Manager and analytics or advertising tags in future. When that happens, those tools may set their own cookies — for example Google Analytics cookies (_ga and _ga_*, typically lasting up to two years) or advertising cookies set by the tags we deploy. This tagging is currently switched off; if we enable it, we will update this policy and this table to describe those cookies before they are set.
Managing cookies
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, and set your browser to block them. Blocking our wml_* cookies will not stop you using the site or submitting the quote form — it only limits how accurately we can attribute your visit.
